Earned value from what's actually installed
Earned value is only as good as the progress behind it. In Install Insights it comes from the work installers confirm on site, so the figures move when the work does.
Set the budget from your rates
Earned Value is a module that is switched on per organisation. The budget starts from unit rates, set per mapping system and element category, either as money per unit or as hours per unit. If your rates already live in a spreadsheet, import them from a CSV or XLSX file.
Some budgets don't come from rates. Set an amount top down instead, for the whole project, a building, a trade, a WBS node or a single activity, and it is spread across the work below it. Budgets can be in €, £ or $.
Actual cost from the hours on site
When installers confirm installed work, they enter the hours it took. Install Insights turns those hours into actual cost using the project's labour rate. Progress and cost are recorded in the same step, by the people doing the work.
Planned, earned and actual on one chart
The Earned Value Analysis view shows planned value, earned value and actual cost as curves over time, with a forecast to the estimate at completion.
The cost and schedule performance indices, CPI and SPI, are coloured green, amber or red, so you can see at a glance where the job stands. On piping work, earned value can also be split by pipe line and spool.
Freeze a baseline
When the plan is agreed, take a baseline. It freezes the budget, dates and quantities together, so you keep a fixed record of the plan as it was agreed.
